Deputy Manager General Affairs & Human

Jeffersonville, Indiana Reports to: Senior Manager, General
Affairs & Human Resources
Position Summary: Supports
the Senior Manager, General Affairs & Human Resources in administering
General Affairs and Human Resources policies and programs for the
Corporation. These include organizational planning, protocol, employment,
training, orientation, career development, classification (including job
descriptions), associate relations, compensation, Kaizen, non-production
budgeting / expense control, benefits, and general affairs/ administrative
support. May act as liaison for Company on legal, contractual, internal
controls, and public/community affairs matters. Assists with HR/benefit
matters for Idemitsu Apollo Corporation and Idemitsu Chemicals USA
Corporation. Works closely with the team’s two coordinators.
Essential Functions/Examples
of Duties:
1.
Assists with formulating and recommending all policies and programs
dealing with people at multiple locations in several U.S. states and
Mexico.
2.
Helps determine and recommend associate relations practices
necessary to establish a positive associate / management relationship,
promote a high degree of morale, and comfortable working environment.
3.
Supports all recruiting, hiring, placement, and termination
actions.
4.
Works with Senior Manager, GA & HR, to establish wage and salary
structure, pay policies, performance appraisal and bonus programs, and
benefit / service programs. Assists in performing and analyzing
wage/benefit and attitude surveys for feedback.
5.
Helps coordinate and evaluate training and development programs.
Performs training as required.
6.
Meets the ISO/TS 16949 Standards regarding resource management.
7.
Helps oversee 401(k) Plan.
8.
May negotiate various contracts including insurance, 401(k),
uniform, janitorial services, and recruiting.
9.
Acts as ILA backup spokesperson with government authorities, Ports
of Indiana, Chamber of Commerce, news media, etc.
10.
The preceding functions are examples of the types of work performed
by associates assigned to this job classification. Management reserves the

Minimum Requirements:
1.
Education: BS / BA ; MBA preferred .
2.
Experience: Minimum seven years human resources experience.
Manager/ director experience preferred.
3.
Special Skills/Job Knowledge/ Abilities: Must have strong people
skills, HR generalist background, and basic computer skills. Must have
well developed administrative, team oriented, and management skills. Must
have minimum five years supervisory experience.
4.
Additional Information Relevant to This Position: Should have at
least five years experience working in a manufacturing environment. Must
have extremely high principles and be able to effectively operate in a
consensus based decision making environment. Travel varies, but can be up
to 50% in peak periods. Must have or be able to obtain a passport.
